What is Micro SaaS?
A micro saas (micro-saas) application is a software application that is delivered as a service, typically over the internet (usually progressive web applications; PWAs). Micro saas applications are usually much smaller and simpler than traditional enterprise software applications, and are often designed for a specific purpose or niche. The most popular places where you can see a lot of micro-saas products being shared are Indie Hackers and Product Hunt.
Micro saas applications are built and launched everyday and have become very attractive to a lot of developers and companies alike interesting in building or acquiring them as they are uniquely built to provide a service on a consistent basis for customers that pay for that service on a particular cycle; whether monthly or annually. This is a very attractive way of making money for entrepreneurs (recurring revenue) as revenues are fairly predictable and growth can be projected way into the future based on present recurring revenue and growth rate numbers.
Micro SaaS Marketplace
A Micro SaaS marketplace is a platform that enables makers/developers of micro saas applications to sell/liquidate the codebase, IP, domain names, resources of these software products. Many micro saas applications are created by independent developers and sometimes sold to larger organizations through online marketplaces. The best marketplace out there for these types of acquisitions is Tiny Acquisitions (I built it, so I'm a bit biased).
The Tiny Acquisitions marketplace allows you to search and find various categories of applications, content sites and digital assets on a whole. Check out this gif below on how to search the marketplace to locate micro saas applications and filter them out based on your preferences:
